Abstract:Steel slag is a typical mass-produced byproduct of steel making industry. In China, the recycling rate of steel slag is only 10%, and the amount of ceramic residue is also on the rise. Both of them do great harm to the environment.By adding an appropriate amount of ceramic residue to steel slag, new building materials can be prepared by single-factor methods,whose flexural strength is greater than 100MPa. The phase compositions and microstructures are tested by XRD and SEM.The feasibility of producing new building materials with steel slag and ceramic residue as well as the extensive application foreground of new building materials is also analyzed.
