Abstract:The cutting experiments has been carried out to study the cutting performance of powder-coated-with-ceramic materials-FTC1and FTC2‚and the wear mechanisms of Which were analysed in this paper. It was proved by the experiments that FTC1and FTC2were suitable as cutting tools‚and the wear resistance ability and the cutting performance of FTC1and FTC2 were better than that of YB01(purchased)in cutting tempered45steel and quenched T10A tool steel with low and medium speed. In cutting quenched T10A tool steel‚the flank of YB01has obviously plastic wear characteristics‚while the flank wear of FTC1is grain wear and cohesive wear‚and which of  FTCis extrusive wear.

Key words: coated powder‚ceramic materials‚cutting performance‚mechanisms
