Abstract: Microstructure and curves of differential thermal analysis (DTA) of two galss powders which had same composition but different heat history were studied and contrasted by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and differential themmal analysis (DTA) in this article . The experimental results showed that area of exothermal peak of the phase separated glass in the DTA curves was obvious larger than that of the as quenched one, which indicated phase separation promoting nucleation of glass . Meanwhile microstructure of the two glasses after heat treatment proved phase separation restrained crystals growing up further.
