Abstract: Borides are promising candidates for wear resistant materials. But poor sinterability and extreme britleness of borides rtarded their application. Reaction boronizing sinteing method has solved this problem. This paper intoduces the criteria for the reaction bronizing sintering method , the typical sequence of events expected in reaction boronizing sintering and the process of manufacturing cladding material. As the high hardness cladding material has excellent properties, there is great theoretical and practical significance to study this method.
