Film Forming Characteristics of Anatase TiO2 Sol on Various Substrates and Properties of Resultant Film

Abstract:  TiO2 sol containing anatase colloidal particles was used to spread on various substrates , such as copper, Al2O3 ceramic, microscope slide, PC plate, PVC sheet, PET thick film, paint coating, and paper sheet, etc. Scanning electron microscope was adopted to investigate the surface morphology of TiO2 films , and the optics property and photocatalytic activity of TiO2 film coated on the microscope slide were also tested. The results show that TiO2 sol has well film forming ability on various substrates . As prepared TiO2 film is transparent, and will not cover the color of the substrate. Moreover, this film has good photocatalytic activity.
