Abstract：Tape casting method was employed to prepare porous SiC ceramics .The effect of pH value on the taping properties was in- vestigated .It was found that precipitates appeared in the suspension at pH 7 -9 and the suspension showed lower flowability . It could be formed freely at pH >11 .The samples were sintered at 950 -1250 ℃for 2h .The porosity of the sample sintered at 1050 was about 52 %.The average pore diameter was 6 .5μm .
