Abstract: Average pore size of ceramic microfiltration membranes reduced from 3.20μm to 3.15μm through modification entirely by tetragonal nano-crystalline ZrO2 about of 20 nm. The size of island nano-crystalline silver depositing on tetragonal ZrO2 was inhomogeneous as silver system of broad-spectrum inorganic antibacterial attached to nano-crystallineZrO2 coating of ceramic microfiltration membranes surface. Powder modified by doping silver showed better wettability. Powder displayed best wettability with 0.5mol% silver. Using staphylococcus aureus as experimental object, the antibacterial efficacy of ceramic microfiltration membranes with silver on staphylococcus aureus has been studied, and the mechanism of action for cells was primarily explored.

Keywords: ceramic microfiltration membranes, nano-crystalline, antibaeterial, wettability
