Abstract: In this paper, the microstructure and properties of plasma-sprayed NiCr-Cr3C2 coatings, both before and after laser remelting, and the influence of scanning velocity of laser remelting were investigated. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) are applied to investigate the microstructure of coatings, the hardness is tested by a microhardness tester and the porosity is analyzed by a quantitative microscope. The experimental results indicate that the NiCr-Cr3C2 coating by laser remelting has higher microhardness and density, and the porosity has decreased. Scanning velocity of 1.5m/min is the best process parameter.

Key words: laser remelting; plasma-sprayed; NiCr-Cr3C2 ; scanning velocity
