Abstract: The effects of organic additives, such as plasticizing agents, plastering agents and lubricants, on the formation of tubular α - Al2O3 micro -filtration membrane support were studied through orthogonal experimental design method. The porosity, bending strength and microstructure of the support were characterized. The results show that the plasticizing agent has an important effect on the extrusion formation of the tubular support. The support calcined at 1400℃ has the porosity of 50.1% and the bending strength of 52.4MPa when 6wt% glycerin, 6wt% hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) and 3wt% ethnol are added. This support meets the requirement of microfiltration membrane support.

Keywords: tubular micro-filtration membrane support, orthogonal experiment, organic additive
