Abstract: A low thermal expansion petalite-phosphate ceramic material was prepared by using natural mineral petalite, Hualin kaolin, Guizhou kaolin, Guangxi talc, Shanxi zimujie clay and some artificially synthesized NaZr2 (PO4)3 as raw materials by ordinary ceramic preparation method. The effect of synthesizing temperature on the synthesis of phosphate was studied. The result indicates that the powder synthesized at 1450 ℃ for 1 h has the minimum thermal expansion coefficient. When the sodium hydrogen zirconium phosphate additive amount is 5 wt%, the petalite-phosphate composite ceramic has low thermal expansion coefficient (1.38×10-6/℃) at 1250 ℃ with 30 min soaking time.
