Abstract: A classification study of Yiyang stone, a ceramic raw material from Jiangxi Province was carried out. Results show that the iron content of the porcelain stone has a significant effect on ceramic whiteness and gloss. With the increase of the iron content, the whiteness and the gloss of a ceramic product decreased. The iron content of Yiyang stone also affected its adaptability to other ceramic raw materials.
