Abstract: The oxidized carbon-zircon inclusion pigment (ZrSiO4/C) was prepared by sol-gel method. The effects of milling method, solvent type and molding pressure on ZrSiO4/C inclusion pigment were analyzed with XRD, colorimeter and TEM. The results show that the morphology of colorant C has obvious effect on the coloration of the pigment. C powder after hand grinding and sieving appears grainy with uniform distribution, resulting in higher blackness. However, C powder as a colorant after vibration milling isn’t easy to be wrapped due to the flocculent morphology. Water solvent can destroy the heterogeneous polymerization of Si-O-Zr bond and lead to the homogeneous polymerization, which is unfavorable for the low-temperature synthesis of ZrSiO4. Excess molding pressure hinders the mass transfer of gasphase SiF4 in the synthesis process of ZrSiO4and affects the normal growth of ZrSiO4, which is not conducive to the package and coloration of pigment.
