An Overview of the Exchange Activities on Ceramic Arts and Studies of Jingdezhen for Promoting Cultural Heritage and Diversity between China, Africa and the Arab States

Abstract: The program “Promoting Cultural Heritage and Diversity through Ceramic-arts Capacity Building, Development and Exchange between China, Africa and the Arab States” was formally launched in 2011 in accordance with UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Two workshops held under this program in 2012 and 2013 have made huge progress in the protection of ceramic art and culture as intangible cultural heritage. They’ve set up a new milestone for introducing Chinese ceramic art and culture and the Studies of Jingdezhen to the world, promoting the fusion of Chinese ceramic arts with the folk arts of other parts of the world., and implementing the convention.
