Preparation of Pavement Brick from Soda Residue

Abstract:Pavement bricks were prepared using soda residue from soda ash production by ammonia-soda process. The results showed that the idea of preparing pavement bricks with untreated soda residue directly was impracticable. A composite material could be prepared after pre-heating soda residue, clay and FM binder at 700 °C. pavement brick The 7 d and 28 d strength of the prepared could reach 14.84 MPa and 24.36 MPa respectively when it was made from the mixture of 80% composite material, 15% rock powder, 5% stone ballast, and 10% cement.
