Combustion Synthesis Theories and the Development of Combustion Synthesized SiC/Si3N4 Composite Raw Materials

Abstract: The thermodynamic and kinetic theoretical bases of combustion synthesis are reviewed and the computer simulation of the combustion synthesis process is introduced. It is pointed out that the combustion synthesis of SiC/Si3N4 will become a hot research topic with the development of high-performance SiC/Si3N4 nano-ceramics. The commercialization of high-performance SiC/Si3N4 ceramic powder will be accelerated by new technologies such as mechanical activation, chemical excitation, vapor phase, low-temperature synthesis, compound method and computer simulation.
