Abstract:Using rectorite clay as carrier to enhance the adsorbility and photocatalytic activity of Bi2 WO6,Bi2WO6/rectorite composite visible light catalyst was successfully synthesized by liquid method. The structure of the prepared catalyst was characterized by XRD, SEM and BET. The photocatalytic activity of BWR composite was studied by the degradation of organic dye acid red G. The results showed that rectorite significantly increased the specific surface area and pore volume of Bi2WO6together with the adsorption capacity of the catalyst, and the degradation rate (120 min) of the acid red G reached 98% under visible light irradiation.

Key words:rectorite; Bi2WO6; photocatalyst; acid red G
