Abstract:The coal gangues, magnesite, alumina and silica are used as the main raw materials. crystallization, nucleating, mechanical properties of cordierite glass-ceramics containing TiO2 as nucleating agent was studied by XRD, SEM techniques. The relationships between phase structure, bulk density, mechanical properties and heat treatment methods were well discussed. Compressive strength of this material mainly depend on heat treatment methods. When the sample is heated at 800 ℃ for 3h and then at 1200 ℃ for 4h, the bulk density can reach to 2.68g/cm3 ,excellent mechanical properties can be obtained and its compressive strength can reach to 42MPa.
