Abstract:The temperature variation of ceramic firing process in roller hearth kiln has an important influence on product quality. The theoretical model is developed for predicting the fluid dynamics and heat transfer characteristics of ceramic firing process in the roller kiln, the software to be called Fluent of CFD is used to solve the control equations numerically based on dynamic mesh technique, dynamic thermal response of ceramic ware is obtained in the process of firing. It is indicated that temperature of ceramic ware rises gradually in the initial heating period of firing zone, the front temperature of ceramic ware is faster than the rear temperature. Temperature difference of ceramic ware becomes smaller and smaller as time goes by. The temperature of ceramic ware shows more quick variation with an increase of the velocity of flue gas that is sprayed from the burner, temperature nonuniformity during heating is unconspicuous.
