Abstract: In this research, glass powder, ZnO, TiO2, quartz, kaolin and fluorite were used as the main raw materials for the synthesis of medium temperature titanium crystal glaze. The basic formula was first determined by exploratory experiments. Then single factor experiments were carried out in which the influence of each material on the crystal quantity, size and shape and the titanium crystalline glaze glossiness was analyzed. The orthogonal experimental method was employed to optimize the formula of the titanium crystalline glaze. Moreover, the chemical composition of the raw materials of the glaze was characterized by XRF and the phase composition of the samples were analyzed by XRD. The results of XRD, SEM and EDS analysis indicated that the crystal was rutile type titanium dioxide; its elongated crystals growing overlapped and interlocked form dendritic structure of 3.1-4.4 mm on the glaze; visible phase seperation occurred in the glaze with the average size of 50 nm, which strengthened the Rayleigh scattering of blue light and led to the glaze appearance of blue.
