Preparation and Characterization of LaOF : Eu3+ Red Phosphor with High Thermal Stability

Abstract: In this paper, Eu3+-doped LaF3 (LaF3 : Eu3+) phosphor was prepared by hydrothermal method, the structure and luminescent properties of the phosphor after annealing are systematically studied. The samples were tested by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and fluorescence spectroscopy (PL). When the temperature of annealing was 600 ℃, the LaF3 hexagonal phase began to transform into the LaOF tetragonal phase; after annealing at 800 ℃, the LaF3 crystals completely transformed into LaOF crystals, and LaOF : Eu3+ red phosphor was successfully prepared. Under the excitation light of 396 nm, the main emission peak of Eu3+ ions was 614 nm, and the emission color was red.
