Abstract: The effect of AN -103P dispersant on electrical properties of ZnO varistors was studied. It is found that both the potential gradient and voltage ratio of the ZnO varistors are increased gradually with increasing content of the dispersant. Meanwhile, the effects of the content of Sb2O3, sintering temperature and the concentration of Al3+ on voltage ratio were also examined. It is observed that the increase in the content of Al3+ led to significant reduction in the voltage ratio, but the leakage current was relatively low. Therefore, the fact that the dispersant could increase the voltage ratio is attributed to the decrease in donor concentration.
