Artistic Characteristics and Social Cultural Implication of Ceramic Children Playing Decoration in Song Dynasty

Abstract: Ceramic children playing decorations appeared in Tang Dynasty and became more prosperous in Song Dynasty, while children playing decorations as sports games are very popular. The games are generally divided into two categories: games with toys and games without toys. Toys can be divided into three categories: animals, plants and toys making. The children playing decorations in Song Dynasty were both indifferent and implicit, with a strong sense of civic culture. The children playing decorations and even the children playing itself are essentially aesthetic game activities, expressing human poetic pursuit for family flourish and happy lives.
