Abstract: Light and shadow are important elements in high temperature color glaze painting. Their ingenious application can help accentuate the construction, texture and layout of the artistic image. They can display the spatial arrangement, highlight the motif, create an atmosphere,and express the feelings and thoughts of an artist. The distinctive patterns of light and shadow in high temperature color glaze stem from the personalized considerations of a spontaneous artist, the abstracted image from life for decoration and the adaptivity to nature and environment.
