Abstract: In this paper, Sr2MgSi2O7: Eu2+, Eu3+, Dy3+ yellow long afterglow phosphors were synthesized by combustion synthesis method, using acid silica sol as raw material. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and fluorescence spectrophotometer as well as scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to analyze the phase, luminescent properties and morphology of the products, respectively. The results showedthat, it was easy for Sr2MgSi2O7: Eu2+, Eu3+, Dy3+ powders to be crushed. The excitation peak was located at 350 nm. The main emission peak and the secondary emission peak were 568 nm and 475 nm, respectively. The afterglow time was able to reach 5 h.

Key words: Sr2MgSi2O7; long afterglow phosphors; acid silica sol; combustion synthesis method
