Abstract:  In order to improve corundum-spinel castables’ anti-explosion performance, the influence of anti-explosives such as aluminum powder, polymeric fiber, azodicarbonamide and aluminum lactate on the properties of corundum-spinel castables were researched. The results showed: a proper amount of each of these four additives could improve the anti-explosion performance of the castables. In comparison, aluminum powder had the most obvious effect on improving the explosion-proof performance of the castables, followed by polymeric fiber and azodicarbonamide. The castables containing 0.06wt.% aluminum powder, 0.03wt.% polymeric fiber and 0.05wt.% aluminum lactate, had the highest anti-explosion temperature and superior physical properties.

Key words: corundum-spinel castables; aluminum powder; polymeric fiber; azodicarbonamide; aluminum lactate
