Abstract: Single phase TiVC2 was prepared by carbothermal reduction of metavanadate, graphite and titanium dioxide mixed raw materials.Phase composition and optimized carbon coefficient were investigated by combination of XRD and SEM analysis. Results showed that single phase TiVC2 with good crystallinity was obtained after second reduction when the carbon coefficient was 0.80.
