Research Progress on Antioxidant Activity of ZrB2-based Ultra High Temperature Ceramics

Abstract: ZrB2 based ultra high temperature ceramics are widely used, because they have many excellent properties, such as high hardness,high melting point, good thermal conductivity and good thermal shock resistance. ZrB2-based ultra high temperature ceramics can be used for hot-section components in aircraft, hypersonic missiles or rockets. There are some higher requirements for their antioxidant activity. This paper has reviewed the oxidation mechanism of ZrB2-based ultra high temperature ceramics, the test method and the research progress of the oxidation resistance and so on.
