Abstract: ZnO powders were prepared with metal salts and glucose as raw materials by a hydrothermal method. ZnO microspheres, ZnO nanoparticles and ZnO nanosheets were obtained. The obtained ZnO powders were assembled into dye sensitized solar cells. The effects of zinc/c mole ratio and hydrothermal synthesis temperature on the performances of ZnO powders and cells were studied. SEM and TEM were used to characterize the ZnO microstructure. I-V curves, IPCE spectra and EIS of the cells were given. The cell obtained at the zinc/c mole ratio of 6:1, the hydrothermal synthesis temperature of 180 °C and after the reaction time of 4 h exhibits the photoelectric conversion of 1.91%.
