Eric Ravilious: an Artist Who Introduced Illustrative Art into Ceramic

Abstract:During the 1930-40s, Wedgewood commissioned many freelance artists to ceramic design. Among them, Eric Ravilious, an illustrator, brought a breath of freshness to ceramic pattern design with his distinctive painting and expression. Different from those traditional Wedgwood patterns, his works were humorous and diverting with their remarkable features of illustrative art.
