Abstract: Anode-supported electrolyte membrane was prepared by using ceramic slurry dip-coating method for solid oxide fuel cells. Pre-sintering temperature of the anode support, composition of the dip-slurry, parameters of the dip-coating process and co-sinterability of the anode substrate/electrolyte were evaluated. To achieve dense electrolyte membrane, the optimal pre-sintering temperature, solid content in the slurry, pulling speed and co-sintering temperature were 1200 ℃, 15 wt.%, 10 mm·min-1 and 1450 ℃, respectively. The electrolyte film with a thickness of ~20 μm could be prepared on the anode with a porosity of 30%. The open circuit voltage of a single cell was over 1.1 V.

Key words: solid oxide fuel cell; dip-coating; anode-supported cell
